CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. The constant variation provides a different stimulus for the body each session, which results in a constant increase in fitness levels. The functional movements we use are “amplifications” of the big, everyday movements a physically active person makes. Many of us have sedentary jobs however, so CrossFit workouts provide a way to maintain regular exercise while moving with power and efficiency. The movements are performed at high intensity because intensity is essential for fitness to improve. This means getting out of breath and feeling fatigue during the workouts performed. Intensity is relative to each person and your coaches at Compound Athletics are very experienced in working with different people to help them perform safely and within their limits.

BIRTHFIT
MomFit is an individualized fitness program that focuses on a holistic approach for pre-conception, pregnancy, and post-partum training. Through movement, breath, and intention, MomFit trains the birthing person in their specific season of life. Whether you’re preparing to give birth or rehabbing and rebuilding from labor, MomFit ties together the breath and fundamental movements to ensure that the birthing person is creating the mind-body connection that will then translate into whatever sports-specific training they love to do. There’s no need to modify or scale for birth or post-partum, but instead, purposefully train for it. *not included in monthly membership, contact us to find out more.
PUMP
Pump is an approach to training that can be used a little or a lot to increase strength, correct imbalances, improve movement quality, and help you gain comfort and confidence in a variety of positions, without sacrificing aesthetics. Compound Athletics programs are built around Functional Bodybuilding principles, as well as mixing in Olympic weightlifting and classic functional fitness.
SWEAT
Sweat a type of interval training in which you alternate short, very high-intensity intervals with longer, slower recovery intervals. The idea is to work in the upper percentages of your target heart rate zone, or around a 9 out of 10 on the perceived exertion scale, meaning you go as hard as you can during the work intervals. This intensive effort takes you into your anaerobic zone, a level so high that your body can’t take in enough oxygen to the generate energy it needs for the activity.
